Self Introduction

My name is Kento Nakano. I'm 19. I'm from Kitakami city. I attend Iwate university, and I major in English. I have a dream to be a teacher in elementary school. It's because I admire the work to teach children while seeing my parents who are a teacher of an elementary school. I think I want to study teaching method at Iwate univ. And I like basketball, fashion, a cappella. At first, basketball is my favorite sport. I think that I sank a shot without a ball touching a ring is the best moment. Second, fashion is most interested things for me. I like cloths, wearing, watching, selecting for anyone. I want to work at apparel shop. Finally, I'm most interested in a cappella now. A cappella is the unaccompanied chorus with only voice. Thanks for an a cappella, I came to like to sing a song increasingly. I'll study hard while enjoying college life.

My Development Goals(November 6th)

I wanna be a teacher in elementary school. The reason is my parents who are a teacher in elementary school talked me that teaching is very difficult, but it is work quite worth doing. Actually teachers have a lot of hardships. Teacher must teach heart of human , not knowledges. I have ever seen them to teach children. Children looked very fan. It seemed to feel delight to learn that. I thought I wanna be like them, and I'd like to share the delight learning. So I should be a teacher who can be understood children's weak point. And I think the method of active learning. Then, I can lead to the answer for children. This is my sub-goal.

My Teaching Philosophy(November 6th)

I think English is taught while pronouncing. In Japan, it's putting the emphasis on learning of a foreign language from elementary school for realization of global society. However, students hardly speaks English in Japan. The reason is students didn't talk in English. Because students writing a decided sentence at a test, it's at a loss for words, when it'll be conversation. I think students who speaks helps more than it's written When I went Nakano Elementary school , I learned it is important to take care of children's reaction. Children always is thinking out things like we don't think. I think students who speaks helps more than it's written. this is my Teaching Pilosophy.

My Development in 2014 - 2015

  1. Critical Incident 1 (Nakano Elementary School):
  2. My group was in charge of Class 3 of the fifth grades. My group's goal was "We let children understand that they should use 'I like'and'I don't like 'to convey one's favorite thing and a hateful thing " and " We let children find the person who has the same favorite thing through the game."Times was suitable.We excepted children could understand story of「Hat's!」.But,we thought probably children didn't understand this contents.Children played the game with fun.Because the children's reaction was light.Then children understood contents, too and enjoyed it together.
    • Critical Incident 2(Nakano Elementary school)
    Our objective of the lesson was “To know the wards of the subject”. We provided the games to achieve this. First, we offered “Who Am I ?”game. So it is that get answers what subjects to children. Second, we provided the game is called “Subject Karuta” The rule is children pick up the cards when we said the subject followed by “I Like ~”. Those activities, we tried to achieve the objectives.We handed out cards to children to use “Subject Karuta”. Eventually, the game was raised. However, when we handed out cards to children, Someone said, “Hey teacher! Tell me the wards of the Japanese and Calligraphy”. Actually, preparation is too late, Japanese and Calligraphy is none. The reason was the lack of preparation of own. And we can’t expect children of aggressiveness.I think English is taught while pronouncing. However, students hardly speak English in Japan. The reason is students didn't talk in English. Because students writing a decided sentence at a test, it's at a loss for words, when it'll be conversation. I think students who speak helps more than it's written. This is my Teaching Philosophy. The reason was that we were too carefully. Finally, only we can take the initiative, children couldn’t have time of conversation. Next time, I try to make class with children.
